FASHION IN ACTION – DEVELOPING COMMUNITIES IN AFRICA 1 BY 1
FASHION” meaning “CLOTHING” is the second most essential human need besides food consumption daily. It is worn by almost all human on earth every day!Fashion (Clothing) speaks a common language understood by all humans. WE ALL WEAR IT!
SOCIAL IMPACT FASHION – Fashion in Action
Considering how important clothing is to society at large, social impact fashion transcends beyond the word “Fashion” – where fashion in action activates and drives social change, by supporting the needs of society’s underprivileged through job creation for socio-economic inclusion.
PROTECTING CREATIVE HERITAGE SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES THROUGH FASHION JOB CREATION.
Designers are encouraged to source natural resources on the continent, and make use of creative heritage and traditional skills, working closely with local Artisans to produce innovative quality made in Ghana, and Africa products, whilst protecting heritage and the environment. Think Creative…Think Future.
FASHION FAIR TRADE
Through Ethical Fashion and sustainable business development, creative businesses are encouraged to produce consciously and trade fairly across the industry value chain, whilst working with local artisans, social enterprises, co-operatives, skilled individuals and small scale businesses in Africa.
Designer entrepreneurs with a social mission helps to raise living standards for the marginalised and underprivileged, especially women, by creating sustainable jobs through skills training, education and production of quality commercial goods, using locally sourced materials and natural resources from within the country in which they design and produce.
